Accredited by the American Association of Diabetes Educators, the Beverly Hospital Diabetes Center is dedicated to the management and education of people with diabetes. Our comprehensive team approach involves working with doctors, nurses, registered dietitians, and diabetes educators to develop a customized treatment plan for each individual patient.
Patients will be empowered with the tools, knowledge, and support to gain control over their blood sugar levels and enjoy a healthier lifestyle. We offer a self-management training program for diabetics. The program covers:
- Diabetes self-management education
- Blood glucose monitoring
- Medication management
- Nutrition management
- Insulin classes
- Risk reduction of complications
- Exercise guidelines
The Diabetes Wellness Hour
Education is the most important tool in diabetes care. For people with diabetes or who are at risk for diabetes, gaining the knowledge and skills needed to modify behavior and successfully self-manage the disease and its conditions could make a difference in their lives. The Beverly Hospital Diabetes Center offers monthly diabetes lectures that are free and open to the community.

The “Sweet Success” Program
The Beverly Hospital Diabetes Center offers the “Sweet Success” program for pregnant women who have diabetes or develop gestational diabetes during their pregnancy. The program is part of the California Diabetes and Prevention Program, which seeks to improve pregnancy outcomes, reduce fetal deaths, and decrease neonatal and maternal complications due to diabetes.
- A registered dietitian specializing in prenatal health and diabetes works closely with each mom to set up goals and meal plans.
- A diabetes educator provides training in blood sugar monitoring during pregnancy.
