Having a baby is one life’s most joyous and rewarding experiences. During this time, it is great to have a guide there to help expectant parents navigate this journey. Beverly Hospital is here to help and is happy to announce that it has resumed several of its Beverly Babies maternity program classes in both English and Spanish. Safety is a top priority; the classes are set with a limited capacity to allow for social distancing and require participants to wear masks. Pre-registration is required to ensure classes are not exceeding capacity.

Maternity class topics range from prepared childbirth to breastfeeding and baby care basics. Having in-person guidance allows participants to experience hands on training and immediate response to questions by experienced educators. “I believe knowledge is one of the greatest things,” said Marcela Rodriguez, childbirth educator for three of the classes, “These classes are beneficial because participants learn how to manage the various aspects of childbirth and newborn care. Once they learn about it and the different options available, they leave feeling empowered and with confidence in having a baby.”

Classes began in June and were met with great response. Briana Martin and her partner, Andrew Martin, are expecting their 1st child together and were part of the first group of participants. “It’s been great,” said Briana, “I enjoyed the 1:1 interaction (and) it is nice to have in-person help. The instructor is really good and open and answered a lot of our questions.”
