Beverly Hospital’s 37th Annual Foundation Golf Tournament took place on Monday, March 21st at the private Friendly Hills Country Club in Whittier. Thanks to the generosity of participants, the gross proceeds totaled more than $94,000. The net income will be distributed to the hospital for the most critical patient needs. Major donors for this event were: Sunrise Medical Group, Bank of the West, Lilian Gong, CPA, and Hanmi Bank.
“Beverly Hospital and the Foundation are grateful for the outpouring of support from our community and business associates, especially during these challenging times,” said Les Fujimoto, Executive Director of the Foundation and a Vice President of Beverly Hospital, “The funds will be used for Beverly Hospital’s most urgent needs and with the effects still lingering from COVID pandemic, the needs of our facility are many.”
The day began early for the many golfers as they checked in and enjoyed Breakfast Burritos provided by Sodexo Healthcare. All golfers received a Beverly Hospital branded ¼ zip wind shirt, chances to win a golfing foursome, and other raffle opportunities; one of the raffle items was a Samsung 82” Smart TV. Delicious box lunches were graciously provided by local Montebello business Frumento’s Italian Deli. Each golf cart was stocked with refreshments, donated by Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Hansen, and hand sanitizers. Jay McCartney from Chevrolet of Montebello challenged golfers to win the Hole in One prize, a brand-new Chevy Silverado!
After the tournament, golfers enjoyed an awards banquet out on the sun filled patio. Beverly Hospital President and CEO, Alice Cheng, thanked all the golfers and sponsors for their support and partnership in making it through the recent and ongoing healthcare challenges. Many supporters made pledges and received a Beverly Teddy Bear. The last person to make a pledge won a bottle of Dom Pérignon!
The tournament was a huge success thanks to Tournament Chair, Edgar Morales, the employees from Beverly who helped, and our awesome volunteers from the community. A special thanks to all our generous donors whose gift will go towards supporting quality compassionate health care.
